mini orchid

June 15, 2018 by admin

A mini orchid in front of a mini barn, with flowers in the middle. The image is a bit hard to read. I’ll post the original image tomorrow. I have most of my fairy gardens outside now. They enjoy the summer outdoors and I get to clean up the sunroom. Orchids don’t usually go outside, […]

fairy wings

June 12, 2018 by admin

These Fairy Wings are actually a close up of dragonfly wings in kaleidoscope form. The body of the dragonfly creates the brownish circle you see. I considered printing this mandala on transparent material, cutting them out and making wings for a physical 3D fairy, but it hasn’t happened yet.

peppermint fairy table

June 8, 2018 by admin

Peppermint table and chairs outside a fairy door on a great lawn with bird bath. Found the table and chairs at a closeout sale they really don’t go with anything, but it’s make believe so.. . .

Fairy fire

May 31, 2018 by admin

Continuing the Fairy Theme I made a tiny campfire for the fairy gardens from a tea light, some twigs and rocks. Mandala above is the fire. Just for fun!

fairy garden

May 29, 2018 by admin

Time to renew my Fairy Gardens, parts survive others don’t. So I get new plants, found a tiny coleus, constructed a new jointed paper fairy seen in the mandala. When I first see it – all I see is patterns and I have to hunt for the fairy. It’s easy once you find her face. […]

In the Spring I got carried away making Fairy Gardens, still have some of them, even decorated a few for Christmas. This one has an acorn cap “light” I made in December.

another temporary fairy garden

May 12, 2014 by admin

Fairy Henge with a small star fish, sheet moss over the dirt holding the stones up and the Scarlet Pimpernel Fairy who was sitting. Since there were no plants except the small one in back – there was nothing binding the earth together. So when it slipped off the stair in my window well greenhouse […]

Temporary Fairy Garden

May 8, 2014 by admin

A reminder Fairy Gardens are temporary constructions. In this basket garden I discovered the Flower Fairies of Cicely Mary Barker have been translated into 3-D versions about 3 to 5 inches tall. Above is Buttercup, with a real pansy, a log with glass butterfly and a blue bird. I put the garden out under the […]

Gnome Cottage

August 24, 2013 by admin

Back in the 1970’s my husband made this gnome cottage out of a gourd and a piece of drift wood. It’s about 9″ long. Rabbits, frogs, a crystal and a ‘air’ plant decorate it now. At Christmas, the fake walnut hanging from the driftwood branch opens up to a tiny nativity scene and I hang […]
