A cold wind is blowing here today and in the picture of the apache plum seed head. I look at my work for images appropriate to be turned into a Black and White image, this was my selection for this months competition and I got a 1st place!!
Have always loved the big seed heads of salsify, like a big dandelion to pick and blow them away. They are about 3 inches in diameter and are a natural circle themselves. But with the kaleidoscope program I can make them even more round, this one has a star inside another star!
The Teasel plant has a very distinctive seed head which at one time was used as a comb to raise the nap on wool fabric. I liked the sharp edges of these plants; this picture is sort of a reverse silhoutte. It snowed unexpectedly yesterday morning, so I went looking for this ‘snowflake’ mandala.
